N2 - Social Science Research in India and the World is a comprehensive study of the status, challenges, and future directions of social science research in India and selected countries around the world. The volume examines trends in research funding, institutional support, research quality, methodology, performance assessment, and the role of social sciences in public policy and development.

The contributors compare India's social science research system with those of other countries, including Switzerland, Thailand, Vietnam, and Bangladesh, highlighting differences in research infrastructure, funding mechanisms, and policy support.
