520 _aThis is the objective, first-person account of Velupillai Prabhakaran, the man who defined the three-decade-long armed struggle for an independent Tamil Eelam in Sri Lanka. Based on the author's extensive visits to the country as a journalist, the book traces how a home-grown guerrilla built the LTTE into a ruthless war machine but ultimately failed, leaving a major question mark over the future of Sri Lankan Tamils.
