This book argues that the crisis of liberal secularism stems from its internal roots as a secularized theological model with deep origins in the Protestant Reformation, rather than being a neutral or non-religious framework. It traces how this model fostered intolerant anticlerical views toward Catholicism and Judaism in Europe, which were later adapted into colonial descriptions that mischaracterized Hinduism and the caste system as false religion, ultimately harming local forms of coexistence in India.
